 About Shirley Taylor

Labor of Love Ministries was founded by Shirley Taylor in September 2021. Having to navigate life as a single parent, she learned to overcome fear, leaning on the experiences of her strong mother, who herself had raised eight children. She watched her mother serve those who were disadvantaged, even at the expense of her own needs. Shirley grew up seeing her mother volunteering serving the homeless and welcoming others into their home, as she always did so with a smile.   Shirley began volunteering when her own daughter was in elementary school by donating her daughter’s school uniforms to other parents in need. As time went on, she became more involved by volunteering for school fundraising, backpack drives, as well as other areas outside the school setting. Following her mother’s footsteps, Shirley can often be found serving the homeless community, volunteering with several non-profit organizations, supporting her home church, and other local churches where she sees a need. She has operated as Event Coordinator, and has established a Sign Language Ministry for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in San Jose, CA. At the core of her belief is the fact that God gives everyone strength to walk in their assignments, but we must persevere and trust that all things are possible.  "God is within her. She will not fail.” Psalms 46:5
